“…help combat health inequity in Wisconsin while simultaneously enhancing a community’s access to a healthier life.”

What are you most looking forward to this year? 

“I am most looking forward to interacting with individuals to optimize outcomes specifically for individuals with high risk pregnancy.”

What are you most looking forward to this year? 

“Learning more about healthcare and our surrounding Milwaukee Community”

“… improve health equity in the state of Wisconsin and to develop my understanding of public health  and current public health initiatives.”

What are you most looking forward to this year? 

“Assisting and developing coalitions to address health issues identified by the communities I will be serving.”

“… gain hands on experience serving vulnerable communities and understanding the community’s needs.”

What are you most looking forward to this year? 

“I am looking forward to working directly with patients and assisting them navigate the healthcare system and the community resources available.”

“…I was seeking a year of growth! HealthCorps is an opportunity that allows me to engage with the community and challenges me to connect with people from different backgrounds than myself.”

What are you most looking forward to this year? 

“Those ‘a-ha’ moments when I’ll feel inspired/proud/excited about the work I am doing.”

“… I had heard great things about the program from friends and I thought this would provide a great opportunity to utilize my gap-year in a meaningful way.”

What are you most looking forward to this year? 

“I’m really looking forward to having a real connection with the people I interact with, both patient-wise and with other AmeriCorps members.”

“…I am interested in public health and wanted to gain more knowledge and experience. I also really enjoy helping others and wanted to be able to give back.”

What are you most looking forward to this year? 

“This will be my second year at my host site so I think I will be more effective in my roles and be able to take on more leadership opportunities.”

“…gain real world experience in public health.”

What are you most looking forward to this year? 

“My position focuses on transportation as a social determinant of health. I am excited to dive into this topic as transportation can be a barrier for so many we serve in public health.”

I joined the Wisconsin HealthCorps because…

“…I’ve always had a passion for nutrition, health, and helping others, so this was a perfect fit for me! I get to work with and educate people on the importance of healthy lifestyles while making a difference in the community! I’m hoping to go back and get my masters in public health and AmeriCorps provides the experience I wanted to gain before making that decision.”

What are you most looking forward to this year? 

“Getting the opportunity to work with people who may not know as much about healthier choices and helping them change their lives in big ad small ways! I want to impact those I’m working with and make changes in the whole community.”

“…learn more about the field of public health and to give back to my community.”

What are you most looking forward to this year? 

“Coordinating and organizing early literacy promotion events and also learning about the day-to-day operations of a health focused non-profit organization.”

“… I wanted to explore an area that I didn’t know anything about and get a better understanding of health care on an insider level.”

What are you most looking forward to this year? 

“As a returning member, I am most looking forward to continue projects that I started my first year and build stronger relationships with my community.”
